Hi everybody!! Well we are finally settling into life in Canada. Sorry I have not written before, but I am here now!! I had my 3 hour university exam yesterday.. I think I aced it!
Today was a really nice day, almost all of the snow melted. Tomorrow it will be 20 C, so we plan to buy a bbq. It finally seems like spring is here. The weather has been terrible until a few days ago, no flowers out yet. I don’t think there are any cherry blossoms in Winnipeg at all.
We saw a Japanese restaurant today that served yakisoba and agedashi tofu, so we will go there someday. Jessica is missing her favorite tuna onigiri from Family Mart already!
We think Canada is expensive for food and alcohol. Too bad we need both!
So far everything is going great. Peter is doing his computer job, and I am shopping a lot… a perfect life… I am also busy renovating the basement, new paint, carpet and things for the homestay guests.
Jessica is in a daycare a few days a week and is settling in well too. She will start French-Immersion kindergarten in September, and until then she is seeing her grandparents, cousins, and other family a lot.
We like it here , but we already miss Japan. Cheap happushu, bentos, and the cherry blossoms.
And yes, everybody… I am cooking!! I”ll put some photos up soon. Shannon

Shannon has an exam on Friday, April 13th, and so is busy studying. She’ll get back to the website and so on next week.
Well, time is passing, and we have to get the basement rooms all set up to accomodate guests. The rooms are built and look good, but they don’t yet contain any furniture, the rest of the basement is pretty ugly, lots of stuff to do before we can accept any guests.
