update

Hi everyone!!
Well we are still in Winnipeg… still settling in…after about 6 weeks of our new Canadian life.
Our 51 boxes arrived safely last week, and I am still unpacking them..but Jessica is happy to see her toys, I am happy to see my books and Peter is happy to see his computers…!

We are still painting and renovating the basement… next week a new carpet will be finally installed… so it will finally be finished .

I am planting flowers and the vegetable garden this week. It is May long weekend in Canada and everyone works outside planting gardens this weekend. We have decided to have corn, pumpkin, tomoatoes, carrots, peas, and beans, so I hope all the seeds will grow.

We bought a nice mini-van so have lots of room to transport guests.
It is also great for bringing home all my recent shopping purchases.
We are enjoying our new gas barbeque for big juicy Canadian steaks.

So, looks like we will be all set for our first guests who arrive on July 1st.
There are lots of things to do in Winnipeg in the summer months. Winnipeg Folk Festival, Ballet in the Park, outdoor theatre at Rainbow Stage and lots of camping places to visit.

We went to a little Japanese restaurant last week for yakisoba and gyoza… pretty good but expensive. There are more than 20 Japanese restaurants in Winnipeg with names like Sushi Train, Shogun, and Ichi-ban.

Bye for now,
Shannon, Peter and Jessica
